Nellie Mae (Richardson) Behel went to be with her Lord on Sept. 19, 2005. She was born Feb. 14, 1918, in Lauderdale County. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Church of Christ, attending Lone Cedar and North Carolina.She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Harry L. Behel; parents, Wiley and Mildred (Massey) Richardson; sister Audrey (Richardson) Behel; son-in-law, Chi Parker; and niece, Shirley (Behel) Thompson.She is survived by her children, Margelun Parker, of Killen, Audrey Jean Posey and husband, Jimmy, of Double Springs, Eddie Behel and wife, Jane, of Grove Oak, Cathy Owen and husband, Jerry, of Tuscumbia, and Deborah Chason and husband, Mercer, of Muscle Shoals; grandchildren, Doug Parker, Marsha Willis, Connie Parker, Chris Posey, Amanda Danley, Amelia Norris, Craig Owen and Justin Owen; great-grandchildren, Heather Passarella, Micah Parker, Will Willis, Wesley Willis, Marcus Posey, Lucas Posey, Noah Danley, Jonah Danley, Emily Norris and Joseph Norris; great-great-grandchildren, Chi Willis and Nathaniel Parker; and one niece, Lois Vinson.Loretto Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Services will be at Lone Cedar Church of Christ on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, with Don Williams officiating. The body will lie in state from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., with the funeral following at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Lone Cedar Cemetery.Pallbearers will be family members.The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to all of her caregivers, Hospice of the Shoals, the staff at Glenwood, Dr. Webb, Dr. Lumpkins and Dr. Ashley.In lieu of flowers, make donations to Hospice of the Shoals or Lone Cedar Church of Christ Cemetery Fund.
