Nellie Irene Smith, 88, of 2735 Anderson Road, Woodstream Apts., died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003. Widow of Tom Smith, she was born in Oakway, daughter of the late Marcus Clifton and Polly Jane Moore Burdette. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and was a Baptist. Surviving are daughters, Bobbie Helm, and husband, Al, of Easley, Marlene Garrett, and husband, Bob, of Clinton, Tenn., and Molly Ann Church, and husband, David, of Travelers Rest; sons, Charles F. Smith of Greenville, and Tommy R. Smith, and wife, Pam, of Powdersville; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and caregivers, Beth, Joyce, June and Elizabeth. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 tonight, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Graveside services will be Sunday, at 3 p.m., at Graceland Cemetery, West. The family is at the residence.
