WALKER, Nancy Catherine Nancy was born December 18, 1948 in Picton, Ontario, the daughter of Jean and Leo MacDonald and passed away on February 18, 2005 at her home in Leamington, Ontario. She is survived by her husband Michael; daughters, Ashley and Katherine; dogs, Angus and Sydney; and her sisters Patricia MacDonald (Ian Szlazak and son, John Patrick), Mary Lee Barham (Douglas) and Christine Tordon (Rick). Nancy graduated from St. Rita's School of Nursing, Sydney, N.S. as a Registered Nurse, and from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She spent the majority of her life in Vancouver, where she worked for many years in the nursing profession, as a nurse, an instructor, and a consultant. Before moving to Leamington in 2003, she was president of the Lion's Gate Healthcare Research Foundation. Those who knew Nancy knew her as a caring, thoughtful, dependable person with a great sense of humour, who always put others before herself. In addition to her family, Nancy's passions were gardening, painting and quilting, to name a few. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell St. Leamington, Ontario on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. Special thanks to Nancy and Lorna for their outstanding care and kindness.
