Nancy Waldron Elting, 65 PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Nancy Waldron Elting, 65, passed away Aug. 17, 2008, surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late George and Edith Waldron of Portland, Nancy moved with her military husband to Pensacola, Fla., over 35 years ago. After her divorce, she returned to school and learned secretarial skills. She worked for the city of Pensacola before dedicating the past 25 years to Gulf Power as a professional secretary. Her kind disposition and gentle demeanor will be missed by all. As head of a scouting family, Nancy raised two Eagle Scouts and a Silver Awarded Girl Scout. She served as den mother for Cub Scout Pack 2 of Myrtle Grove in Pensacola and as the fund-raising chairperson for the Gulf Coast Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Edith Waldron. She is survived by her step father, Oakley Sanborn; her sister, Susan Shelton, her three children, David Elting, Debbie Elting Schott (Henry) and Stephen Elting; their father, Don Elting; five beautiful grandchildren; and two nieces. Visitation was held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. with funeral services following at 6 p.m. in Pensacola, Fla., on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at Brooklawn Memorial Cemetery in Portland. Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Rd., South Portland is in charge of local arrangements.
