Nancy Rose (DiMaggio) Davisof Owego, N.Y.Nancy Rose (DiMaggio) Davis, 86, of Owego, N.Y., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 6, 2005, at Willow Point Nursing Home, Vestal, N.Y. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward C. Davis in 1983; her daughter, Nancy Barto, in August 2004; her infant grandson; and her infant great-grandson. Nancy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Dorothy Davis, Endicott, N.Y.; her daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and James Starr, Greer, S.C., MaryAnn and John Yaman, Owego, N.Y.; her son-in-law, Richard Barto, Owego, N.Y.; her eight grandchildren and their spouses, William and Cheryl Davis, Kimberly and Michael Williamson, Richard and Janice Barto, Nanette and Michael Viviano, Joy and Eric Gooch, James and Wenda Starr, Tammy and Keith Jordan, Tracie and Brad Wheeler; her 14 great-grandchildren; her several nieces nephews; and many special friends. Nancy was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., on April 5, 1918, the daughter of Anthony and Rosa (Claiazzo) DiMaggio. She was very creative with doll-making, and crocheting blankets and sweaters. She was generous with her abilities, donating her time and talent to those in need. Nancy was also gifted in music and art. She was a member of Abide in the Vine Fellowship in Owego, and was especially devoted to her family, who she held so dear. Nancy will be remembered for her love and generosity, and will be missed by all those who knew her.A Funeral Service will be held at Richards Funeral Home, Rte. 17c West, Owego, N.Y., on Thursday, February 10, 2005, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Frederick Hoover, Pastor of Abide in the Vine Fellowship, officiating. Burial will follow in Tioga Cemetery, Owego, N.Y. Friends are invited to call at Richards Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, from 6 until 9 p.m., and again on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Nancy may be made to Abide in the Vine Fellowship, building fund, 1277 Taylor Rd., Owego, N.Y. 13827, or Willow Point nursing Home, activities fund, 3700 Old Vestal Rd., Vestal, N.Y. 13850. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Willow Point Nursing Home, South 3, for all their love and care.
