Nancy Jenkins Norris, 95, of 10001 Reidville Road, died Friday, October 6, 2006, at Greenville Memorial Hospital, after a short illness with heart failure.Born in Hamlin, Texas, on May 25, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Lee and Maude Lurlene Gay Jenkins and the widow of William A. Norris Sr.She was a former member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Sweetwater, Texas, and the oldest member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and a homemaker.Mrs. Norris is survived by a son, William Amos Norris Jr., and his wife, Nancy, of Vancouver, Washington; three daughters, Gwen N. Revis and her husband, Dr. Jerry Revis, of Greer, Patricia Herring and her husband, Frank, of Flora Vista, New Mexico, and Barbara Aiken and her husband, Henry, of Gray Court; a sister, Adala Bond of Tyler, Texas; sister-in-law, Juanita Jenkins of Lubbock, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was looking forward to her 30th great-grandchild in March 2007.She was also preceded in death by infant twin sons; a grandson, Kenneth Rice Herring; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ernest N. and Hermona Jenkins and Rev. John C. Jenkins; and a sister and brother-in-law, Stella Mae and Earl Kiser.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Cross Roads Baptist Church before the 11 a.m. funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Michael Sheehan and Rev. Chuck Pace.
