Canon - Mrs. Nancy Northcutt Brown, 71, of 5191 Highway 17, Canon, Ga., died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at her home.Mrs. Brown was born September 5, 1937, in Statesboro, Ga., daughter of the late Samuel Awtry Northcutt Sr. and the late Claudia V. Garner Northcutt. She was Co-owner of Franklin Sports Wear and was a former member of the Royston Library Board. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Walter L. Brown.Survivors include sons & daughters-in-law, Monroe & Karen Brown of Royston, Ga., and Stephen & Carolyn Brown of Canon, Ga.; daughter & son-in-law, Suzanne & John Rigsby of Elberton, Ga.; grandsons, Robert Russell Dunn Jr., Walter Byron Dunn, Andrew Monroe Brown and Samuel Elijah Brown; granddaughters, Brianna Elizabeth Brown and Claudia Elise Brown; great-granddaughters, Chloe Ashlyn Dunn and Magdalene Lee Dunn; and sister, Eloise Davis of Toccoa, Ga.She was preceded in death by one son, Walter Byron Brown; and three brothers, Samuel Awtry Northcutt Jr., Richard Garner Northcutt and Gerald Northcutt.Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 4, 2009, at the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bert Synan officiating. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.The body is at the Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, Ga., where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., Wednesday evening.
