MILLS Nancy Lucille Mills passed away In Jacksonville, Florida. She was born on March 21, 1946, in Norwalk, Connecticut, to Dr. Clifford Wheeler Mills and Lucille Jones Mills. Nancy is survived by two sons, Geoffrey and Jame Peterson, two brothers, Richard and Clifford Mills, two sisters, Marilyn Morrison and Letha Mills, two sisters-in-law, Rosemary Mills and Daneene Mitchell, a grandson Kiran, and many nieces and nephews. Nancy attended Staples High School in Connecticut, Laselle College in Massachusetts, and Norwalk Technical College. After an early interest in a career in nursing, she began working as a computer programmer for Union Trust Bank, and has been a systems analyst and change management executive for Bank of America for the last 21 years. Nancy loved needlepoint, antiques, and raising zebra finches; she also read widely. Her favorite author was Agatha Christie, who was filled with wisdom that Nancy embodied. Both knew that good advice was bound to be ignored, but should be given anyway, and that for everything one loves, one pays a price. Christie observed, I live on borrowed time, waiting for the summons that will inevitably come. And then I go on to the next thing, whatever it is. One doesn t have to bother about that, luckily. Nancy is now on the next thing, and finally free from bothering. And bother she did. Nancy gave generously to everyone she cared for and was supportive of so many family members and colleagues that her passing is the greatest loss imaginable for all those she touched. In lieu of flowers, Nancy would want people to send support to President Obama in his re-election bid. The family will be holding a private memorial service at a later date.
