NANCY L. WOOD Nancy L. Wood, 62, of Sebastian, FL, died October 9, 2005 at Sebastian River Medical Center, Sebastian, FL, after a brief illness. She was born January 6, 1943 in Boston, MA, and moved to Sebastian 8 years ago, she was formerly from Scituate and Jamaica Plain, MA. Mrs. Wood was a Homemaker. Nancy was very active with the Special Olympics Florida Indian River County, her husband of 48 years James W. Wood, is the County Coordinator for the Special Olympics. Also surviving are daughter, Lea Anne and her husband James Craig of Palm City, FL; sons, James W. Wood, Jr., of Sebastian, FL, Lawrence M. Wood of Quincy, MA; grandson, Stephen J. Craig of Palm City, FL; granddaughter, Amanda J. Craig, and great-granddaughter, Jamiee Leanne Craig; her mother, Virginia McCarthy of Jamaica Plain, MA; sisters, Judith Rolt of Middleboro, MA, Patricia Emanuel of Dedham, MA; and her brother, William McCarthy of Brockton, MA. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, October 13, 2005 at the Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian, FL. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2005 at the Strunk Funeral Home Chapel, Sebastian, FL, with Rev. Gary Isner officiating. Interment will follow at Sebastian Cemetery, Sebastian, FL. Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics Florida Indian River County, 2455 Fifth Street, SW, Vero Beach, FL 32962.
