ANDERSON Nancy Joan (ne?e Harris) June 28, 1930 - February 22, 2008 Nancy grew up on her grandfather's farm on Slocan Lake, attended UBC, and became one of BC's best naturalists. She knew and loved the province, especially the alpine meadows in the Kootenays. She was a member of the Vancouver Natural History Society, the B.C. Naturalists, and was the Kootenay member on the Wildlife Habitat Conservation Fund. She helped establish the province's ecological reserves, and worked particularly to save wetlands. She co-authored "Nature West Coast". For the last 30 years she lived with her husband John on the family farm at New Denver, BC, and was active in many community affairs. She was respected and loved by all. A memorial service will be held in New Denver in the spring or early summer. Donations: Slocan Community Health Centre or BC Alzheimer's Society.
