Moore, Nancy Jeanne ALBANY Ms. Nancy Jeanne Moore, 78, of Albany passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany after a period of declining health. She was born in Hudson on June 14, 1936, to the late Milton P. and Alice E. (Stone) Moore. Nancy attended schools in Stottville, and Keene, N.H., graduating from Keene High School. She received her nurse's training at the Elliott Hospital in Manchester, N.H., and her bachelor's and master's degrees from Russell Sage College in Troy. Nancy was an excellent bedside nurse, supervisor and teacher. She taught nursing at the State University of New York until the program closed, she then worked for the New York State Nursing Association. Nancy finished her nursing career inspecting nursing homes and, later, facilities for handicapped people for the State of New York for many years until her retirement. An avid reader, Nancy also enjoyed traveling, attending concerts, plays and ballet, family gatherings, sewing and crafts, and sharing the products of those efforts with family and friends. Nancy was a quiet person whose accomplishments were many and who contributed much to her field of work, her family and friends. She is survived by three sisters, Joyce Boyd of New Market, Md., Donna Livengood of Alstead, N.H., and Port Charlotte, Fla., and Pamela Oberg of West Swanzey, N.H.; one brother, Samuel Moore of Chichester, N.H. Nancy is also survived by her companion of more than 50 years, Marjorie Meyer of Albany, and two special friends, Carol Francis and Lee Hayner. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Milton D. Moore, and a sister, Catherine Moore Pratt. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at the Third Congregational Church of Alstead, 14 River St., Alstead, at 1 p.m. An hour of visitation will take place prior to the service, from 12 until 1 p.m. Burial will take place later in the spring at the Oak Hill Cemetery in W. Swanzey, N.H. Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, has been entrusted with the services. fletcherfuneralhome.com
