Nancy Isobel Walton January 13, 1916-January 15, 2013 Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law died peacefully on January 15, two days after her 97th birthday. She will be remembered as a lively, smart, funny and talented woman with a vivid imagination, who, through good times and bad, was compassionate, loving and charitable to everyone. During her long and rich life she became as expert at chopping wood, using a washboard to clean sheets by hand, making jam, working at the Anchor Fence Company during WWII, and canning fruit, as she was at entertaining, with style, her husband's business associates, friends and the rich and famous. She was a talented artist who, with her pen, was able to capture the joy of capering children at the beach and the essence of life on the streets of the Downtown Eastside. She was a long-serving volunteer with St. James' Social Services and St. James' Church. Our thanks to the amazing team at Point Grey Private Hospital for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, please be generous to a charity of your choice. If there is an afterlife, she joins Lux, Mrs. Figsby, Ytteb, Bec, May, Mercia and the Lukies in catching up and having a good laugh about their years together - and maybe even a few tears.
