Nancy H. Williams, age 85, of Crestview, Fla., passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at her son's home in Raleigh, N.C. She was born in Burke County, Ga., on Aug. 12, 1924, to Nathaniel and Hattie Herrington. Nancy moved to Crestview in 1964 from West Palm Beach. She worked for Okaloosa County schools as a bus driver for over 27 years and was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Her greatest treasures in life were her Lord, family and friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William C. Williams, of 56 years; and a sister, Mildred Yaun. Survivors include her son, Ronald Williams and wife Angella of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Bonson Herrington and wife Sue of Wrightsville, Ga.; a sister, Neloise Long of Waynesboro, Ga.; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. A time of visitation for Nancy will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George Katzman officiating. Burial will follow in Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
