BROWN, Nancy Elizabeth(nee Robinson)Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully at the May Court Hospice in Ottawa on Friday, March 20, 2015 at the age of 75. She was taken from us too soon, but will live forever in the memories and hearts of her loving husband, Alan; children, Jeffrey (Isabelle Panier) and Stephanie (Paul Farlam); cherished grandchildren Benjamin and Marianne; sister Margaret Nixon (Jack) and brother Ted Robinson (Alma); many nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law; and close friends. Predeceased by her parents T.L. "Roy" and Dorothy (nee Perkin). We will remember her laughter, her always ready smile, her love of friends and family, and her quiet determination. Nancy was a teacher by profession and calling. After leaving teaching to raise her family and moving across Ontario as Alan was transferred as part of his work with Imperial Oil Limited, she returned to teaching and particularly enjoyed her time as a teacher of English as a second language in Toronto, much loved by her adult learners. She will also be remembered for her compassion and lifelong commitment to volunteer work. A private service was held at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. Words cannot express our gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion shown by the May Court Hospice staff and volunteers to Nancy and her family.
