Nancy E. Brown, age 69, of Yonkers, NY, died suddenly on Tuesday, May 28, at St. John's Hospital. For more than 45 years, Nancy was a teacher and administrator of programs for children and young adults with special needs in the Greater Chicago, Detroit, Boston, and New York areas. She held a BS from Columbia Teachers College, an MA from George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University, and did post-graduate work at Fordham University and the Bank Street College (NY). Nancy also taught at the Hunter College Summer Demonstration School (NY) and was an adjunct instructor at the State University of New York at New Paltz University of Michigan, the George Peabody College, and Ball State University (IN). She is survived by her brother, A. Peter Brown and her sister-in-law Carol V. Brown of Bloomington, IN, and her niece Heidi E.V. Brown of Washington, DC. A funeral service was held in Chicago on Saturday, June 1, at the Olson/Burke - Sullivan Funeral Home. A memorial service in the Westchester area is being planned for later in June.
