Nancy Burdett Lewis Nancy Burdett Lewis passed away at Margaret Dower Hospice House Sunday, November 25, 2007. The service will be at 2 p.m. EST on Friday, November 30, at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home Riggins Road Chapel (850-877-8191). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., or the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra.Nancy was born in 1930 in New Orleans, La. Her parents were Elizabeth Woollen Burdett and Lawson Burdett of Jacksonville, Fla. She graduated from Landon High School in Jacksonville and attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans where she earned her B.A. She then married Alfred Lawson Lewis, Jr., a medical student at Tulane University, and she taught at Fortier High School.They had three children and moved to Tallahassee in 1960. After the death of her husband, Dr. Al Lewis, local pathologist, she attended F.S.U.'s College of Law where she earned her J.D. She has lived at Westminster Oaks since 1994. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, the Junior League of Tallahassee, and Holy Comforter Episcopal Church.She is survived by her sister, Patricia Sendel of Stuart; her children, Nancy Lewis of Vancouver, Wash., Randy Lewis (and wife Pam Seiser) of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Ann Lewis of Tallahassee; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
