Avis de décès de Nora-Lee-Hutt-St. Onge

ST. ONGE, NORA LEE HUTT, 84, died Friday, May 21, 2004 after an extended illness, in her home in Tallahassee, FL. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-7PM, EDT at Culley's Meadows Memorial Chapel on Riggins Road (850-893-4177), with services being held Wednesday, at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice (850-878-5310.) Born to her beloved mother, Laura Robbins Sydnor and father, Ernest Lee Hutt, Jr., in Lyells, VA, she grew up on their 600 acre farm, "Hickory Thicket," which had been granted to her family, a "first family of Virginia," in 1617. The Lyells area is better known as the beloved "Good Old Northern Neck-Old Virginia True," a little strip of inland between the yellow Rappahannock River and the grand Potomac blue. It was also the original area to George Washington and Francis Lightfoot Lee and Robert E. Lee, cousins on two sides to Nora Lee. She graduated Val Victorian of her high school and with top honors from Mary Washington College, June 1, 1942. Graduating that morning, she celebrated that afternoon by wedding her handsome, beloved Navy pilot, Harold Joseph St. Onge, (Lt. JG., Ret., Tallahassee, FL) with whom she shared over 64 years of love, two children, H. Norman (Delray Beach) and Robin Lee, (Tallahassee) and precious grandsons, Alex and Stephen St. Onge (Delray Beach). They subsequently moved to Winter Park in 1958 until 1987. Among her life's contributions, Nora Lee was a retired educator, K-12, primarily of English Literature; she was awarded : "Outstanding Teacher of the Year" twice (1978-1980) by students and faculty; "World Who's Who of Women, 1991;" "Medal of Honor for "Outstanding Achievements and Dedication to Professional Goals, 1991;" "Woman of the Year, 1991," 'based on her outstanding accomplishments to date and the noble example she has set for her peers and entire community.' Nora Lee is most warmly remembered by family and friends, however, for her "joie de vivre," her love for life, Christ, family, good friends, good food and reasons to toast in celebration. The ultimate hostess, she was always effervescent, full of life, and attentive to making everyone in her presence feel welcomed and special. Her tremendous kindness, generosity to all, statement that "everything is beautiful, and the goose is hanging high!" "trafficing in roast beef," and kicking off her little prancers to dance in her "stocking feet," will long be fondly recalled. A marvelous wife, mother and person, she will be deeply missed, until we all meet again on the other side of eternity.
