NONA MAE (CHAMBERLAIN) DAVIS HOPEWELL, Va. - Nona Mae (Chamberlain) Davis, 88, of Hopewell, Va., departed this life quietly on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, her birthday. Nona was born in Hinesburg, Vt., on Aug. 7, 1926, the daughter of the late Charles Henry and Lottie Mae (Clapper) Chamberlain, the eleventh of eleven children. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Gunnery Sgt. Clyde Glynn Davis, USMC, Ret., of Portsmouth, Va.; son, Paul Edward Davis Sr.; and daughter, Donna Lynn Pentecost. Left to cherish her memory are her remaining children, Janet Ruth Granger and husband, Robert A. Granger Jr., Michael Glynn Davis and wife, Sharon F. Davis, and Barbara Ann Ferrell; eight grandchildren, Paul Jr., Christopher, Nathan, Rachel, Jake, Dylan, Vickie, and Raymond; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren. A funeral will be held at West End Presbyterian Church, in Hopewell, Va., on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park Cemetery.
