ObituaryMyrtle N. White, 81, died Tuesday at Hope Hospice House in Fort Myers, FL. she was the wife of the late Edward E. White. Born in Providence, RI on March 17, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Ethel (Moorehouse) Major. She had lived in Narragansett, RI, Coventry, CT, and Williamstown, VT, before moving to Fort Myers, FL 1997. Mrs. White was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed at the University of Rhode Island before retiring to live in Vermont. She and her husband were members of the United Federated Church of Williamstown, VT. Mrs. White leaves a son, Malcolm E. White and daughter-in-law, Susan of Stafford Springs, CT; a daughter, Gail White-Surico and son-in-law, Joseph of Fort Myers, FL; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; a sister Grace Carew of Mashpee, MA. and was predeceased by her son Bruce A. White, a brother James Major and sister Arline Rininger. The funeral will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at United Federated Church, Williamstown, VT. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery, Williamstown.
