Retired Dental Hygienist AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs Myrtle A. "Myrt" Davis 79, entered into rest on Tuesday November 14, 2006 at Brandon Wilde. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday November 20, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Augusta with Dr. Greg Deloach and Dr. Tim Owings officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Born December 14, 1926, in Honea Path, SC, Mrs Davis married William Wesley Davis on March 8, 1946. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 47 years. She was a Dental Hygienist, in the Augusta area, for 40 years. When she first came to Augusta, she worked with Dr. Hal Holmes and Dr. Larry Henderson, after that Dr. Ronald Bowers. She worked the last 22 years, of her career, for Dr. John Jopling and retired in September of 1995. Mrs Davis always enjoyed her friends and family, who enjoyed her wonderful sense of humor, even during her illness. She also enjoyed writing poetry and was recognized, by having a few ofher poems published. In addition to her husband, Mrs Davis is survived by a daughter and son in law, Donna and J. Scott Toth, Boulder, CO; daughter, Jean Davis, Augusta; brothers, Bob Davis, Greenwood, SC, Ed Davis, Mooresville, NC, Wayne Davis, Ware Shoals, SC; sisters, Alma McFadden, Ninety Six, SC, Toni Ruff, Pomaria, SC, Jolene Armstrong , Belton, SC and a grandson, John Wesley Toth, who attends Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX. Mrs Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Frank and Ella Land Davis. The family will receive friends at the church, Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services. Nephews and great nephews will serve as pallbearers.
