CARTER Myrtis Mae Carter, 81, of Hillard, FL went to be with her Lord and Savior from hospice on Friday, July 13, 2007. She was born in Cochran, Georgia on December 11, 1925 to Mr. Robert Lloyd and Mrs. Irene Lucas Lloyd. She lived in Jacksonville most of her life and moved to Hillard in 2005. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Carter on January 8, 1979; her parents and her sisters, Evelyn Carter, and Barbara Thomas. Myrtis is survived by her 5 children, Nell Rose Fey (Johnny), Tommy Carter (Pug), Debbie Soles-Smith (Jerry), Kim Ford, and Timmy Carter (Tisha); 1 sister, Doris Burroughs (Jesse); 3 brothers, R. L. Lloyd (Judy), Hardy Lloyd (Jean Ann), and Gene Lloyd (Hilda); 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family visitation to greet friends will be on Monday, July 16, 2007 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Main Street Funeral Home (4315 Main Street) Jacksonville, Fl. 32206. Home going services will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 10:00 am at Hardage-Giddens Main Street Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Kincade officiating. Her body will be laid to rest by her husband (Tom) at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Morris Center of Shands in memory of Myrtis Carter.
