MYERS Marian Joyce Moore Myers, age 79, was born in Gibson CIty, Illinois, Sept. 07, 1924 and she died Oct. 14, 2003 in Jacksonville. She graduated from Normal Community High School in 1942 and attended Illinois Wesleyan University, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority for 60 years. She married Leo J. Myers, Jr. of Normal, Illinois, Sept. 12, 1944. She retired from the Department of HRS, State of Florida, Dec. 1981. She was a member of Arlington Presbyterian Church, where she was Co-Director of the Meals on Wheels program. She was also a volunteer at First Coast Shepherds Center, Arlington UMC and various other local venues. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert J. Moore and Sibyl Bailey Moore and by her sister, Marjorie Lee Moore. Survivors are her husband Leo of 59 years; daughters, Sara Joyce Myers (David Petersen), New York City and Atlanta; Amanda Myers, Albuquerque, NM; Josette Bailey Myers-Atkinson (Joel), Bethlehem, PA; and Rachel Ann Minteer (Robert), Bozeman, MT. Also surviving are two grandsons, three step granddaughters and two step grandsons. Memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003 at Arlington Presbyterian Church, 1300 Sprinkle Drive.
