Ms. Dorothy "MeMe" Morrell, age 47, passed into eternal rest on Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Mapleview Personal Care Home in Statesboro after an extended illness. She was a Brooklyn, N.Y., native and moved to Savannah. She was a member of 2nd Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Savannah. She resided in Statesboro for many years. She was employed with John's Place in Statesboro before her health failed. She leaves to cherish fond memories to four children, Corey Morrell, Xzavier Morrell, Andrea Jetters and Mario Jetters; stepmother, Helen Morrell of Savannah; one sister, Judy Morrell of Statesboro; three brothers, Michael (Veronica) Morrell Jr. and Wayne Shaw, both of Savannah, and Terrell Shaw of South Carolina; her caretakers, Isaac and Jennifer Boatwright of Statesboro; two sisters-in-law, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A private viewing will be held on Saturday, March 22, at 1 p.m. in Garden City. Service of comfort entrusted to the care of Craig R. Tremble and Sons Funeral Home.
