Mrs. Mattie Alena Hollie- Allen, 91, resident of Lake City, Florida, passed on October 20, 2014.  She was born in Lake City, December 18, 1922 to Elijah Tanner and Sophia Johnson Tanner.  They precede her in death.  Mrs. Allen was employed many years with First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and watching television. Walker Texas Ranger and The Price is Right were among her favorite programs.  Others preceding her in death: children, Freddie, Rosetta, Delores and Charles. Cherishing memories: daughters, Julia Jenkins (Jerry), Bernice Latson (Henry), Joan Jurden, Corenthain Rossin (Izell), Geneva Bowman (Wayne), Rosa Hollie, Deborah Stephens (Willie); sons, Thomas Allen, James Allen, Naye Hollie, Nathan Hollie, Sylvester Hollie (Ann); devoted granddaughter, Shalonda Ford; hosts of other grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends; special friend, Kathy Edwards. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Allen will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Compassion Love Center, 349 N. Marion Avenue, Lake City, Florida, Charles Martin, Pastor.
