Mrs. Lela Lee Lewis, age 86, passed into eternal rest at Memorial Pembroke Pines in Pembroke Pines, Fla., after an extended illness. She was a Bulloch County native but resided in Miami, Fla., for over 40 years. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Brownsville, Fla. While residing in Bulloch County, she attended the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Register, Ga. She is survived by three daughters, Ms. Beverly Lewis and Mrs. Shirley Lewis Archie, both of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Bettie Lewis Wilson of Miramar, Fla.; three sons, Mr. Johnnie Lee and James Lewis, both of Miami, Fla., and Mr. John Lewis of Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; and a host of other relatives and friends. The service for Mrs. Lewis will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2009, at 1 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Register, Ga., with Pastor Lee Hunter officiating.
