STATESBORO - Mr. Thomas Benjamin "Tommy" Claxton III, age 51, died Monday, August 4, 2008. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Athens, Ga., and was a respiratory therapist. Tommy enjoyed reading and traveling. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Benjamin Claxton Jr. Survivors include his mother, Maude M. Claxton; his sister, Marcia Claxton; and two brothers, Bob Claxton, all of Statesboro, and Bill (Jane) Claxton of Watkinsville, Ga.; two nieces, Aubrey and Lydia Claxton; and one nephew, Brad Claxton. Visitation will be held Thursday from 1-2 p.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Houston officiating.
