GUILFORD - Robert John Harrington of 48 Hickory Road, Guilford passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2007, in St. Raphael Hospital, New Haven. He was the husband of the late Doris James Harrington. Born in New Haven on Sept. 15, 1922, son of the late John F. and Rene C. DeChamplain Harrington. Mr. Harrington was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran serving in the South Pacific and took part in the invasion of the Philippines. He was a communicant of St. George Church, Guilford and a member of the church's choir and Rosary groups. Robert was a long time Guilford resident, a teacher in the Guilford school system and an administrator and teacher in the Wallingford school system for many years. He was the father and father-in-law of Robert J. Harrington Jr. and his wife, Bonnie, James P. Harrington and his wife, Inez, all of Wallingford, Carol Ann Harrington of Guilford and Nancy H. Bovich and her husband, Raymond of Clinton; brother of Maude Fleischauer of Wallingford; also survived by 10 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a brother-in-law, Evart James of Wallingford. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, July 16 at 10 a.m. in St. George Church, Guilford. Burial in St. John's Cemetery, Christian St., Wallingford. Friends may call Sunday, July 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford.
