STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Jerry R. Anderson, age 75, died Thursday afternoon at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center after a short illness. He was a native of Evans County, but had lived most of his life in Bulloch and Jenkins Counties. Jerry was a barber in Statesboro for many years and was a former chapter advisor of the PI Kappa Phi Fraternity at Georgia Southern University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the Korean Conflict, was a member of the Statesboro Moose Club and the American Legion Post 90. Jerry was of the Baptist faith and loved to fish in his spare time.Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his wife, Una Sue Anderson.Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Tracy T. (Gina) Anderson of Titusville, Fla.; one granddaughter, Kristi Anderson of Titusville, Fla.; two nephews, Mike Anderson of Hinesville, Ga., and Ed Anderson of Savannah, Ga.; his mother-in-law, Helen C. Roach of Millen, Ga.The memorial service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Rev.
