MONA PATRICIA BENNETT, R.N. (nee McDONALD) In her 88th year peacefully surrounded by family, Mona was called home to her Lord and Saviour on February 9, 2009. She is survived by her beloved and loving husband Bucky (John Robert Bennett), sadly missed by children Marybeth (David Akins), John (Ani Arnott), Barbara (Anthony Coulter), Carol (Norman Leclair), Michael (Suzanne McCabe) and Janice (Alex Stillo). Treasured and devoted Grandma to Suzannah, Jacqueline, and Robin Bennett, Maura, Stephen and Philip Coulter, Mathew, Elizabeth, Daniel and Gregory Leclair, Franny and Hanna McCabe-Bennett, Robert and Sofia Stillo. Predeceased by her beloved son Gregory (1970), her parents Harriet and Michael McDonald and her six brothers and sisters. Born in North Bay, Ontario Mona was a member of the first graduating class of St. Joseph's College, North Bay. She earned her R.N. at Hotel Dieu in Windsor, Ontario and retired after 28 years from The Queensway General Hospital. Known for her wit, her home was always a loving stop for so many friends of all ages. Mona had a great ability to laugh at most situations, she was a wonderful caregiver, so proud of her children and grandchildren. Fittingly they all shared in her last days being prouder of her than she could imagine. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Brampton Civic Hospital for understanding our need to take this journey with her. We are all indebted to Barbara, we could not have gotten through this without her direction in advocating for and instruction in the care of our Mother and Father. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter 'Peel' Chapel 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy. 10 N. of QEW) from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 11 a.m. from St. Dominic's Church, 625 Atwater Ave., Mississauga. Interment Mt. Peace Cemetery.
