Minnie Myrl Davis, age 86, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., passed away March 3, 2008. She was born on Aug. 29, 1921, in Geneva, Ala., to William and Lula Graham Campbell. Mrs. Davis lived most of her life in DeFuniak Springs. She was Pentecostal by faith and a member of the First Apostolic Church in DeFuniak Springs. She owned and operated Davis' Grocery in DeFuniak Springs, on the corner of 23rd Street and Baldwin Avenue, in the early 50s. She also worked as a caregiver for many years. She was well known for her candy, coconut cakes, which were used for fundraisers for her church. She loved to fish, travel and spend time with her family. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clemmis F. "Shorty" Davis; one son, Earl Junior Davis; two brothers, James Campbell and C. Boy Campbell; and one sister, Addie M. Campbell. Mrs. Davis is survived by her daughter, Syble L. Alford and husband Adrian of DeFuniak Springs; two step-grandchildren, Cindy Vestal of Arizona, and James Richard Alford of Sparta, Ga.; three step-great-grandchildren, Heather, Samantha and Hillary; two sisters, Willie Jean Infinger and husband Willie Ray of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Christine Adkinson and husband Bill of Pace, Fla.; and two sisters-in-law, Mildred Davis and Sarah Campbell, both of DeFuniak Springs. Visitation services will be conducted from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Park Ave., DeFuniak Springs. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 7, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David King officiating. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. Those asked to serve as pallbearers are Rex Davis, Roger Davis, Allen Davis, Rob Davis, Chris Blanton and Herbert Davis.
