Milton Wayne OwensAthens Milton Wayne Owens, 73, of Athens, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Owens was born September 24, 1940, in Limestone County to Melvin Dupree Owens and Virginia Corene Sims Owens.Graveside services will be Saturday, August 16, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Elkview Memorial Gardens with Jerry Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.Mr. Owens was a member of Sportsman Park gang and he loved to hunt and fish. He was retired from 3M Company with 31 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Virginia Owens; and one brother, Kenneth Owens.Survived by one daughter, Vicki Helms and husband, Ricky of Athens; two sons, Benjie Owens and wife, Chris of Ardmore and Steve Owens and wife, Missy of Lester; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild; one brother, Joe Owens and wife, Lynn of Athens; and two sisters, Marie Owens and husband, Thomas of Decatur and Joyce Smith and husband, Jerry of Athens.Pallbearers will be nephews.Please sign our Celebration Wall at limestonechapel.com
