AIKEN, S.C.- Ms. Mildred Sue DeLay Wood, wife of the late John A. Wood and daughter of the late William Harvey and Eugenia DeLay, answered God's call on Monday, July 19, 2004 at her residence in Aiken, S.C. She is survived by three sons, Ronnie A. Wood and a devoted daughter-in-law, Linda Wood of Aiken, S.C., Jimmy D. Wood of Hurst, Texas and Wayne Wood of Windsor S.C.; a daughter, Betty Houston of Albany, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. She was born in Midway, Ga., but had lived most of her life in Aiken County. She retired from Graniteville Company, Swint Division and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Aiken, S.C. Mrs. Wood was a loving mother, friend and grandmother. She was devoted to her family and her God. She will surely be missed, but there is a consolation in knowing that she has now joined her husband of 67 years, who has gone on before her. Oh, 'What A Glad Reunion Day!' The fune ral service will be conducted on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at 11 a.m., in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Kirk and Rev. W. H. Bryant officiating. The interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens in Langley, S.C. The Deacons of Memorial Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the son, Ronnie's residence at 152 Vintage Vale Road in Aiken, S.C., or at the funeral home tonight, Wednesday, July 21, 2004 from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, Ga., 30904.
