Mildred Smith, née en 1916, conjointe de Albert-J. Smith, fille de Alfred et Ethel-Goyer, mère de Beverly, Richard et Nancy, est décédée le 8 avril 2011 à l'âge de 94 ans. Veuillez consulter son avis de décès ici:
Smith, Mildred TROY Mildred Smith, 94, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family and caregivers on April 8, 2011. Born in Troy on June 24, 1916, Mildred was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ethel Goyer Desler and was the widow of Albert J. Smith, who passed away in 1995. Mildred is survived by her three children, Beverly DeWolf (Frank), Richard Smith (Jamie) and Nancy Denis and by ten grandchildren, Laurie Smith, Patrick Smith (Christina), Daniel Smith, Tanham and Matthew Denis, Michael DeWolf (Laurie) Daniel DeWolf (Jennifer), Jason, Michael and Roger Muller. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mildred was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Dignand and Shirley Barbour. Mildred was a 1935 graduate of Lansingburgh High School. She and her husband were married on October 23, 1938 and enjoyed 57 wonderful years together. Mildred and Albert spent the winter months in Daytona Beach, Fla. Mrs. Smith had worked as a book keeper for the Cook Coffee Company before becoming a full time housewife and mother. Mildred truly enjoyed life. She enjoyed Tuesdays at the Waterford Senior Citizens (until her health prevented this) and playing bingo and cards with her caregivers. She was an avid Yankees fan. Mildred's greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed family dinners and family visits and was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Anyone who had Mildred in their life was truly blessed. Mom, you have touched so many hearts. Anyone who met you loved you. A special thank you to Mildred's caregivers, Ida, Yoli, Rosie, Jessica, Sarah and Vivian who enabled Mom to remain and pass away in her home. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. There are no calling hours. Internment will be in St. John's Cemetery in Troy. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the MS Center of Northeastern NY, 1205 Troy Schenectady Road, Latham, NY 12110.
