June 22, 2006 Mildred S. Smith, 89, of the Towers, Oneida, and formerly of Bleeker Road, Vernon Center, died peacefully early Thursday morning June 22, 2006 in the Oneida Healthcare Center with her loving family at her side. Surviving are two sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert and Donna Smith of Vernon Center and Kenneth and Mary Smith of Verona; three daughters, Norma Smith of Boston, Joyce Smith of N. Syracuse and Jean Smith of Marietta, GA; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ethel (Edward) Deal of Vernon Center. Friends are invited to call on Friday (today) from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home, Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon. Mrs. Smith's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Peterboro Street, Vernon. Burial will follow in Vernon Center Cemetery, Vernon Center. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mrs. Smith may be sent to the Oneida Healthcare Center, 323 Genesee Street, Oneida, NY 13421.
