Mrs. Mildred Louise Richardson, age 76, of Killen, passed away at her home Monday evening, April 24, 2006. She was born in Athens, Ala., one of 12 children of A.I. and Mary Ann Wisdom Brewer and grew up in the Thach community. Known by all as "Mama Ese," she was a wonderful cook and loved to garden.She was a member of the Baptist church and was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie Hollis Richardson, five brothers and a sister.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Elkins East Chapel Funeral Home. A&E Hospice Chaplain Glenn Murks will officiate. Burial will follow in Barnett Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Thomas H. "Monk" Richardson; daughters, Shirley Ann Beavers and Patricia Gail Watkins, both of Killen; son, Ronnie Lynn Richardson, Killen; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Beavers and Reba Holden, both of Lexington, Flora Boyd and Faye Barnett, both of Athens; and brother, Wayne Brewer, Athens.Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
