She was the sixth of seven children, but she assumed the role of the oldest. Her family worked hard during very difficult times in our nation. On February 4, 1960, she married Lewey Dee Morrison. She was selfless when it came to caring for her family. She nursed her husband for over 20 years, always fighting for his survival. After being diagnosed with cancer for a second time in her life, it proved to be a battle that she would be able to overcome. Mama was that mother that went on field trips and helped with school parties. She was determined that her children would have an easier life than she did. She loved us enough to correct us. That love could only be surpassed by the love of her grandchildren. Sometimes she forgot that she wasn't the mother. She would often tell them that she loved them more than anyone else ever could. She loved her Sunday School class at Hopewell Baptist; she felt she was among old friends. Mama was blessed with many good friends, and she touched their lives. We will miss her each and every day. She was the glue that held us all together. We love you, Mama.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hospice of West Alabama.
