JACKSON, Mildred Kathleen November 3, 1923 December 7, 2009 Born and raised on the Island in South Wellington, Mildred is survived by her loving and devoted husband Ernie and their children, Beverly (Pierre), Jeanette, Brenda and Ken (Jeanette). She will be sadly missed by all including her grandchildren Teresa (Steve), Carson (Jennifer), Krista (Colin), Dominique, Robert, Nicole, Ryan (Jessica) & Brett; her great-grandchildren, her brother Bill (Clara) and other extended family and many friends. Mildred was at peace and called the family together which allowed us all to be at her side at the time of her unexpected death. Throughout their 66 years of marriage, Mildred and Ernie worked tirelessly and successfully to create a warm and welcoming home and family. Over those years they enjoyed many happy times dancing, entertaining, boating and fishing. Mum was happiest when she was in her garden. She was always joyful and generous and one seldom left her kitchen without a little something extra to take home. Mildred loved her family above all else and we all knew that we could be confident in her unconditional love, acceptance and support. Mum had such a great capacity for making us feel so special and valued. She took pleasure in supporting and encouraging us with our plans and adventures. She and Dad remain the true foundation of our family. The memories of their guidance, patience and love for each of us, our children and our children's children will always be deeply cherished in our hearts. Funeral Mass to be held at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 7742 West Saanich Road at 1 PM on Monday, December 14, 2009 followed by a Celebration of Mildred's life at the Deep Cove Chalet, 11190 Chalet Rd. 571862
