DOVER -- Mildred K. "Millie" (French) Horne, 74, of Shadow Drive, died Sept. 15, 2008, at Hyder Family Hospice House. She was born in Laconia, Aug. 23, 1934, to William F. and Isabelle (Bunker) French. She was raised in New Castle and later resided in Portsmouth, where she attended Portsmouth schools, and graduated from Portsmouth High School. She was employed in Portsmouth for several years at her parents' store, French's Doughnut Shop. Since 1957 she resided in Dover. She was the widow of Raymond F. Horne Jr., who died in April 1991, after 34 years of marriage. Family members include a son, Raymond Horne of Manchester; a daughter, Anita Castle of Hampton Falls; four grandchildren; a sister, Betty Ludwick of Hampton; a brother, Edwin French of Maine; several nieces and nephews. SERVICES: Visiting hours are Saturday from noon to 2:30 p.m. at Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter St., Newmarket. A funeral service will be held after calling hours at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with chaplain Subhana Bonner officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Milton Mills Cemetery, Milton Mills. Memorial donations may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter 03833.
