->Smith, Mildred HillIthaca: 93, died October 31, 2014 at Cayuga Medical Center. She was the daughter of Rev. Robert K. Hill and Olive Wolfkiel Hill (both deceased). She was the beloved wife of Alvin F. Smith (deceased) and mother to Karen Ellen, Robert Kirkland (Paula) and Bruce Alan (Michelle), and grandmother to Heather Smith, Sam Smith, Jason Smith, Christy Smolsen, Jamie Staniewicz and step-grandmother to Heather Kilcrease. She is survived by seven great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Mildred was born in Collingswood, N.J. in 1921 and spent her girlhood and young adulthood there, marrying Alvin in 1942. She spent many years in Bethel Park PA, and moved to Ithaca in 2010. The family would like to thank Sterling House and Clare Bridge of Ithaca and the Palliative Care team on 4 North at Cayuga Medical Center for their excellent and compassionate care of Mildred. Interment will be private in Pennsylvania at a later date.
