LIVELY MILDRED FLORENCE (nee White) June 26, 1907-March 31, 2004 The family announces with sorrow the passing of a dear mother & loving grandmother on March 31, 2004 at the Golden Manor at the age of 96. Predeceased by her husband, Lawrence (1983) as well as eight brothers and sisters. Loving mother of Pauline Croteau, Phyllis Miller both of Mississauga, Ronald Lively (wife Alice) of Timmins, the late Helen Sloane (surviving husband Mel) of Orillia, Ruth Whiffen of Penticton, B.C., Don Lively (wife Linda) of London, Ontario, Robert Lively (wife Janet) of Paris, Ontario, David Lively (wife Linda) of Brampton and Jim Lively (wife Bonnie) of Timmins. Dear grandmother of 35 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was also aunt to many nieces and nephews. Arrived in Porcupine in 1927 from her Nova Scotia birthplace and was a long time member of First Baptist Church. Mildred worked as a cook in the cookery at the Dome Mine for many years as well as in various camps. She will be remembered by all for her selfless dedication & devotion to her children & grandchildren. This was demonstrated by countless hours of knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking but most of all by her valued, unceasing and earnest prayer to God for His watch, care and protection over our every activity. Mom was a unifying influence on the family and will be dearly missed. She moved to the Extendicare nursing home in Schumacher in January of 2001 and then in May of that same year she moved to the Golden Manor. At this time the family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at the Extendicare nursing home and the staff at the Golden Manor home for the aged for their exceptional care, concern and endless dedication. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2004 in the chapel of the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Pastor Andy Tulloch officiating. Interment will follow at Tisdale Cemetery. Remembrance donations to the Golden Manor Palliative Care Unit would be greatly appreciated.
