NEW ALBANY SMITH, MILDRED ELOISE CHANDLER, 93, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She was born March 21, 1915 in Clarksville, IN. She retired as a proofreader from Miami Engraving in Miami, FL. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Edward E. Chandler Sr. and Maude Amelia Landwehr Chandler; brothers, Jack, Harold and Edward E. Chandler Jr.; and her son, David Lowell Smith. She is survived by Barbara Koehler, daughter; Lloyd Koehler, son-in-law; Eleanor Carol Chandler Roederer, sister; and granddaughters, Lee Ann Koehler, New Albany and Julie Brooke Koehler, Memphis, TN. Mildred was a member of Eastern Star #532 and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, New Albany. A private burial will take place at the family plot located in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville, IN. The visitation will be held from 9 a.m. 1 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial donations may be made to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, New Albany.
