DAVIS, MILDRED E. CASSELSMildred E. Cassels Davis was born to Nancy Jane Pope and Alver Cassels, November 2, 1930, in Brooker, FL. She passed away Sunday, September 16, 2007, at her home in Gainesville, FL. She was a beloved mother and a long time employee of GE Battery Plant. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Albert Davis of Waldo, FL. Mrs. Davis is survived by her sister, Iris Starling of Fayetteville, NC; and six children; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Rachel Joyner of Myrtle Beach, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and LaTrelle Davis of Gainesville, daughter, Janet Lester of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Dorinda Davis of Alachua; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Joanna Davis of Waldo; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Durwood Dortch of Clermont, FL; fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Arrangements are under the care of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home-Jonesville, 352-376-7556. Donations may be made to Haven Hospice of North Central Florida or the American Lung Association. Graveside services for Mrs. Davis will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at the Rock Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on CR 231 at 11:00am.
