Mildred Davis October 29, 1924 - June 3, 2011 Michigan - Mildred Davis, 86, of Imlay City,MI passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 at her home. Mildred Burke was born October 29, 1924 in Norwich daughter to the late Henry and Madeline Burke. On February 27, 1947 in Norwich she was married to George W. Davis, II. He passed away in 1991. Mildred grew up in Preston. She is a graduate of Norwich Free Academy. Mildred retired in the late 1970's early 80's from South New England Bell Telephone where she was a telephone information operator. She is survived by her sons Henry Edward Davis of Agdon, UT, and George Warren Davis, III of NH, a daughter Bonnie Pope of San Diego, CA, grandchildren Major Mason Thompson, Joe Thompson, Bonnie Jean Slater, and Justin Daniel Davis, a sister Harriet Verdone of Jewett City, and a nephew Mark Verdone. Besides her husband she was predeceased by a sister Hilda Alberice. Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM Friday at the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Rd, Rte 138 Jewett City. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Norwich. Calling hours will be 6:00-9:00PM Thursday.
