DAVIS, Mildred Farmer, age 91, of Plant City, passed away April 15, 2003. She was a native and life long resident of Plant City. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Ernest Davis and sister, Sarah Ha rdeman Sipple. Survivors include two brothers, Maxwell S. Farmer, Jr. and wife Jean, James H. Farmer and wife, Jewell; and one sister, Lillie Belle Davis. Mrs. Davis began teaching at Cork Academy School at 18 years of age. She taught 30 years at Cork Academy and 16 years at Lincoln Middle School. She was a graduate of Southern College and was a member of First Baptist Church for 83 years, a member of the Plant City Garden Club and Retired Teacher Association. The family wishes to express their thanks to care givers, Joan Polk and Karen Giddens for their loving care of Mrs. Davis during her long illness. The famil y will receive friends on Thursday, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and services will be on Friday, 10:00 a.m. at Wells Memorial Chapel, with Dr. Ron Churchill officiating.
