DAVIS, Mildred nee Houndle On Friday September 5th, 2008, Mrs. Mildred (Millie) Anne Davis of Edmonton passed away at home with family and friends. She was born in Petersfield, Manitoba on October 10th, 1916. Millie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her three children; Dr. Roger Davis, Dennis Davis, and Anne Ashton (Bruce). She also leaves to cherish her memory eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews as well as many friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Reverend Edward L.G. Houndle and Sarah A. McDonald; husband, Roy Edwin Davis and sister, May Ball. Millie's life centered on her family and friends, she was the consummate hostess. She made the best pies! In 1937 Mildred received her Registered Nursing Degree from the Misericordia Hospital and continued to nurse and nurture all of those in need for the remainder of her life. She was a long time member of the Daughters of the Nile and participated in their many fundraising activities. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 13th at the Foster and McGarvey Funeral Chapel, 10011 - 114 Street at 11:00 a.m. Donations in memory of Mildred may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, c/o Convalescent Fund Endowment, 16610 - 90th Avenue, Edmonton, AB, T5R 4X1. Millie's family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to the staff of Laurier House, Sherwood Park as well as Dr. Dusang for the loving care and attention they gave to Millie over the past seven years.
