Michelle Ann Jackson Westmoreland Michelle Ann Jackson, 22, of Westmoreland, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2008, after a life long battle with Cystic Fibrosis, with her family by her side. Michelle was awaiting a lung transplant at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. "The strongest person I know." That phrase is quite often used to describe Michelle. Michelle never let the disease get in the way of living her life to the fullest. Some people that knew Michelle were surprised to know she lived with a disease. With her school work, on the soccer field, or with her health, Michelle always showed extreme drive and determination that words do not sufficiently describe. Michelle was a wonderful daughter, sister and friend. Michelle graduated from Westmoreland High School in 2004, and was pursuing a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She enjoyed athletics, especially soccer, which she was actively involved with throughout high school and college. Michelle was also a member of Holy Family Parish in Vernon, NY. Michelle enjoyed many happy memories with family and friends, especially with her sister and best friend, Stacy. Michelle leaves behind her mother and father, Diane and John Jackson; her sister, Stacy, and furry friends, Molly and Sebastian; grandmothers, Elizabeth Jackson of South New Berlin and Barbara Annesi of Norwich; aunts and uncles, David and Margaret Thomsen of South New Berlin, Joe and Pat Annesi of Naples, NY, Tim and Kim Annesi of Norwich, and Terry and Valerie Annesi of North Norwich; several cousins; many good friends from Westmoreland and RIT, as well as boyfriend and love of her life, Eric Peifer of Elizabethtown, PA; and special friends, Rachel Campbell, Tiffany Azzarito and Nikki Richardson of Westmoreland. All that knew Michelle will surely miss her. Be thankful that such a special person was a part of your life. The funeral will be held on Friday, October 17th, at 9:30 AM at the Church of the Holy Family in Vernon, NY. Family and friends may attend calling hours at Malecki Funeral Home, 23 Front St., Vernon, NY, from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, October 16th.
