MICHELE DAVIS GLADSTONE, NJ Michele Rhonda Brown Davis passed away Wednes day, February 6, 2008. Michele was born in Fort Rucker, AL and grew up with her parents and brothers on various army posts around the world. She gradu ated from Cocoa High school in Cocoa, Florida, and had the dis tinct honor of being the first black student body president. While attending the University of Florida she became a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and made deep and lasting friendships that continue to this day. She joined GTE Corporation in 1980 holding various man agement positions in Customer Service, Information Technology and Human Resources. When Verizon was formed from the merger of Bell Atlantic and GTE in 2000, she joined the Human Resources team of Verizon Wireless. During her telecom munications career, she lived in various cities around the coun try and traveled extensively both personally and professionally. Her fondest vacation experi ences were in Central America and the Caribbean. Michele was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Hooks Brown. She was the beloved wife of Dr. Alfred Gregory Davis; loving mother to Jasmine Noelle Davis and Jada Nicole Davis. She is survived by her father, (Ret) Lt. Col. Walter L. Brown and wife Dannie Brown of Sarasota, Flor ida. Other survivors are broth ers, Lt. Michael Brown, Florida Highway Patrol (Linda) of Rock ledge, Florida, Eric Brown of Riverview, Florida, Gary Brown (Analiz) of Brandon, Florida; half-sister Airman 1st Class Ozea Brown; half-brothers Will Brown of Tallahassee, Florida, and Stephen Brown of Saraso ta, Florida; grandmother, Ida Hooks, of West Palm Beach, Florida; two aunts and an uncle, Mary Ivery, Martha Williams, and Ralph Brown, all of Rock ledge, Florida; a father-in-law, Alfred Davis, of Brown Deer, Wisconsin, and a host of neph ews, cousins, and friends around the world. A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, February 13th, at 11a.m. at Mount Moriah AME Church, 234 Stone Street, Cocoa, Florida 32922. Burial will be at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, Florida. Stone Fu neral Home in Cocoa is en trusted with final arrangements.
