Michael Anthony Sullivan, currently of Columbia and formerly of Greenville, husband of Linda Farley Sullivan, died May 12, 2009, at Palmetto Health Richland from complications of PSP. Born in Richmond, Va., on May 24, 1943, he was the son of the late Carl Timothy and Sadie Melton Sullivan. Michael grew up in Greenville, having attended St. Mary's Catholic School, and graduated from Greenville High in 1961. He attended Clemson University and was retired from Cryovac of Fountain Inn. Michael was a longtime member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Simpsonville. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mike was interested in all sports and was an avid fly fisherman. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a stepson, Jason Farley of Columbia; a stepdaughter, Amy Spencer and her husband Kevin, and their two children of Columbia; two nephews, Tim Sullivan and his wife, Melissa, of Spartanburg and Paul Sullivan of Greenville; and a brother, C. Timothy Sullivan and his wife, Susan, of Greenville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Sullivan; and a daughter, Shawn Norwood. Memorials may be made to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church or the Knights of Columbus, 2252 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681. Visitation will be held Friday, May 15, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 16, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. The family will be at their respective homes.
