Michael E. Smith, 60, of 223 Derrick Lane, Simpsonville, passed away at home Monday, June 6, 2005.Mr. Smith was born in Greenville, son of Mildred Gregory of California and the late Jesse Lee Smith. He was a retired truck driver and was of the Baptist faith.Surviving are a son, Joseph E. Smith of the home; a daughter, Janette Smith of Inman; a granddaughter, Alex Greenway; two sisters and three brothers, Sandra Celis of California, Louise Kirk, Robert Smith, and Troy Medlin of Greenville, and Roy Medlin of Belton.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005, at Westville Baptist Church. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Westville Baptist, with burial to follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Marietta. The family will be at the home of Robert Smith, 400 Hunts Bridge Road, Greenville. PalmettoCare Funeral Service is serving the Smith family.
