AUGUSTA -- Michael P. Labbe, 54, of North Belfast Avenue passed away peacefully Nov. 14, 2005, after a brief stay at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Nursing Care at Glenridge Drive. He was born in Augusta on June 16, 1951, the son of Paul Labbe and Florence (Violette) Labbe.Mike graduated from Cony High School in 1969 and earned an associate's degree from the University of Maine at Augusta.He was employed by Dow Roofing Inc., for a total of 32 years, and eventually became owner and president.Mike was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, where he was past president of the parish council and a member of the finance committee. He was an active member of the Calumet Club. Having a genuine interest in his community, Mike was always willing to give of himself for any charitable organization or event throughout his life.He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda M. (Chase) Labbe of Augusta; one son, Michael James Labbe and his wife, Amy, of Augusta; a daughter, Holly Ann Labbe and her husband, Scott W. Cole, of Harrisonburg, Va.; a granddaughter, Ada Violet Cole of Harrisonburg; his parents, of Sidney; two sisters, Marianne White and her husband, Tunney, of Sidney and Paula Dube and her husband, Bert, of Vassalboro; a brother, Dennis Labbe and his wife, Charlene, of Nobleboro; father and mother-in-law James R. Chase Jr. and Gertrude Chase of Augusta; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.A devoted husband, a loving and supportive son, brother, father, uncle and grandfather, a true friend ... Mike will be greatly missed.There will be a gathering of family and friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Care Center, 154 Dresden Ave., Gardiner 04345.
